Guest guest
Heather, The radio program was likely referring to the FAO report called " Livestock's Long Shadow, " and it is not just beef but all terrestrial livestock (chickens, milk, eggs, goats, etc). Here's the short version: http://www.fao.org/newsroom/en/news/2006/1000448/index.html . The actual report is over 400 pages. --Allison Heather wrote: Same here -- I have never heard of it anywhere outside this group! Must be regional. Are there any Canadians out there who listen to CBC Radio 1 -- I heard a promo this morning that " It could be that eating beef is worse than driving an SUV " and it was going to be discussed on the show called The Current -- but I had to go out and I missed it. I'd love to know what they actually said! Heather Now that's room service! Choose from over 150,000 hotels in 45,000 destinations on Travel to find your fit. Guest guest
I'm familiar with the report -- I was really wondering what kind of treatment the information would get from a main-stream news source. I haven't heard much about the report in the news which astounds me, I'd think it would be all over the place that going meatless just a day or two a week would make such a bit environmental impact -- it seems like such a simple thing to do. And I feel somewhat vindicated when the " mainstream " news starts telling my friends and family what I've been telling them for ages :-) Heather Allison Geiger wrote: > > Heather, > > The radio program was likely referring to the FAO report called > " Livestock's Long Shadow, " and it is not just beef but all terrestrial > livestock (chickens, milk, eggs, goats, etc).
