Guest guest
Hello - this is for those of you who have recently become vegetarians because it just won't relate to those of you raised vegetarian. We became vegetarians in October of 2006. So, I haven't had meat in over a year, and I was a big meat eater, having been raised that a meal isn't a meal unless it has meat. The past several months I have been having extreme cravings that run congruent to my cycle. Once a month, I get this craving to have a huge Arby's Roast Beef Sandwich. And I know all the cruelty the animals suffer and the horrendous things that go into the animals used for food, but the cravings are so strong I have to not go out for fear I will succumb to my cravings and drive through Arby's to get my fix. Has anyone else ever had these cravings? It really reinforces my idea that food can be an addiction and why many people simply will not give up their meat. People know an alchohal or drug addiction is bad, but yet they do it until they can get help, if they seek it. But the meat addiction is socially acceptable, so people don't feel the need to break from it. I'd love to hear others' opinions.
