Guest guest
a few people asked for this recipe, so here it is. i use all organic ingredients. 1 c. flour (i use whole-wheat and it turns out fine) 1 tbsp. baking powder 1/4 c. cocoa powder (fair-trade!) 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. unrefined cane sugar 1/2 c. sucanat (i have pretty successfully reduced the sugars by 1/4-1/2 and it still tastes fine, but this is what the recipe calls for...so i would say, just sugar it to taste) 1/2 c. vegan margarine (like earth balance [non-hydrogenated] - you could probably substitute an unrefined canola oil, but i haven't yet) 1/2 c. soymilk 1 tsp. vanilla sauce: 3/4 c. sucanat 1/4 c. cocoa powder 2 c. *boiling* water combine the dry ingredients, then combine the wet ingredients, and stir together until just mixed spread into a lightly-oiled baking pan mix together sucanat and cocoa and sprinkle evenly on top of cake carefully pour boiling water over the cake and topping - DO NOT MIX bake for 40 minutes at 350 you might want to put a pan on the rack underneath in case it bubbles up over the top (i like this with soy vanilla ice cream) chandelle' -- " I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.
