We had two starfruit(s?) in the fridge. I got one out to cut up for my

rats and mice, and I gave the kids the remaining pieces. They went

bananas. My son Jeffery, who rarely says a word, was jumping up and

down chanting, " Starfruit! Starfruit! Starfruit! " Meanwhile my

daughter Leah stood at the baby gate saying, " Mama, we need more

starfruit. Pleeeeeeeease. " I gave them the other starfruit and they

just gobbled up the pieces. It was too cute. :)

A smashed, frozen banana is a great sub for ice cream.

My wife makes us a sort of " ice cream " with frozen banana. I could dig

up the recipe if anyone would like it.

We just slice some pretty ripe bananas into thin cross sections and put them

in the freezer on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. A day later we put

them in the food processor and process until creamy. My daughter thought

this was ice cream until she was over 4 - it's good!
