Oooh, you are in luck! I'm going to make a buttermilk pie in only a few minutes

and I already have the recipe out and on the counter. Hang on, I'll go get

it............

I'm back, and I have it! I have made this before and it is *fantastic.* I don't

know if it's just a southern thing. It's wonderful anyway, and I even hate

buttermilk. You can't even taste the buttermilk, all you taste is wonderful

sweet pie and happiness. :)

Crust:

1 c. flour

1/2 tsp. salt

4 tbsp. butter @ room temp.

1/4 c. shortening

3 tbsp. ice water

Mix flour, salt, butter, & shortening with fork until shortening is the size of

small peas. Add ice water & mix to pastry consistency. Refrigerate while

preparing filling.

Filling:

1 1/2 c. sugar

3 tbsp. flour

1/8 tsp. salt

3 eggs, beaten

2 tbsp. melted butter

1 1/2 c. buttermilk

2 tsp. vanilla

pinch of cinnamon

Combine sugar, flour, & salt. Blend in eggs. Add butter, buttermilk, & vanilla.

Mix very well. Arrange your crust dough in a 9 " pie plate and pour in filling.

Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees... dang it, here's the flaw in my

recipe card!! I didn't write down how long!! I'm going to go make my pie right

now and I'll get back later and tell you how long it took! What a scatterbrained

girl I am!
