Guest guest
<<thyroid-cancer surgeries; these surgeries/procedure s/ailments seems to very common place here in NJ/NY. I am not sure about where you are. Maybe it is the Air we Breathe. No, I doubt it -- it was Soy in my case. DO YOUR RESEARCH.>> How can you doubt that there's an environmental component if thyroid problems are " commonplace " in your local area? Did every single person who underwent thyroid surgery in NJ/NY drink soy protein shakes for 2 years prior? If someone has an underlying problem, eating too much of a particular nutrient can in that case make things worse rather than better -- think of celiac disease, for example -- but that doesn't mean that gluten (sticking with my example) is dangerous for everyone. Guest guest
again, the issue here is likely not soy itself, but highly processed shakes based on soy protein isolate, which is far from a natural or healthy soy source. i think it's sad when people go nuts on something supposedly for their health and then blame that product for the problems they OF COURSE experience afterward. anybody ever hear of good ol' moderation? Guest guest
I haven't heard of it. I've got my fourth bowl of oatmeal in the microwave right now. Mmm, oatmeal. Anything can be harmful in excess, even water! Why load up on soy when there are so many other wonderful, healthy things?? A new thing for me is quinoa. That stuff smells like pure heaven when it's cooking. I cooked some for my dogs yesterday, I used some vegetable broth in it, and mmmm, boy, that was the best smell!!! Plus it tastes good! Lots of protein too. Good stuff, great with broth, onions, and mushrooms boiled with it. Of course I left out the onions for the dogs!! Lentils are also good. Point being- soy is good, if! Just as we shouldn't eat nothing but oatmeal (ahem, me), we shouldn't eat nothing but soy. Common sense! anybody ever hear of good ol' moderation?
