Guest guest
My apologies to people who are tired of this topic.. My midwife's response to me about GBS.. " It is difficult to " cure " GBS because it is a bacteria that we naturally have in our systems all the time. When you have an overgrowth of it, that's when it can cause problems, but very rarely. The natural way to reduce it is to boost your immune system. Vitamin C 250mg twice a day, Echinacea tea or tincture 3 times a day, for 1 week. Also, improve the diet, eat whole foods, cut out simple sugars, drink plenty of water, and rest. Pregnancy tea is great too, Red Raspberry leaf, Nettles, and Alfalfa are usually in it and they have lots of minerals that are helpful for many things. Most important thing is not to stress over it. Stress is the immune system's worst enemy. A 15 minute quiet time to do relaxation breathing once or twice a day can help to deal with everyday stresses. Hope some of this is helpful. Guest guest
Thank you for this informative response. Is your midwife located in the DC area? Please feel free to respond directly to my e-mail address. I was wondering if there is a for topics such as vegetarian pregnancy/gyn related issues that go beyond diet. Our recent off-the-beaten-path thread shows there is a need for this! - rebecca richard Thursday, September 28, 2006 11:39 AM OT: response about GBS from my homebirth midwife My apologies to people who are tired of this topic..
