Guest guest Posted September 21, 2006 Report Share Posted September 21, 2006 lol, i always thought that lullaby was HORRIBLE! so many childhood things seem to have this underlying ugliness. it might sound stupid but i won't sing that " hush little baby don't say a word " song to my son...why do i want to sing about how i'm going to buy him something if he cries and something else if he doesn't like it and so on and so forth? lol, i know that's probably dumb but really, it's just not a very positive song. or how about " ring around the rosy " being about the black plague and everyone dying at the end? very disturbing. and of course, all the grimm's fairy tales. toned down and disney-fied nonetheless, they are still really wretched stories about weird freudian issues.
