Guest guest
Dear Kadee, Welcome to the group! You might want to get a copy of " The China Study " by T. Colin Campbell. I got the chance to meet him and hear him speak this summer. He is a prof. at Cornell, who is now vegan. The book is loaded with research; especially about dairy and animal products. Guest guest
Hi all. I'm Kadee, I live near St. Louis. I have a husband, Jeff, and my two children are Leah, 2 1/2, and Jeffery, 1 1/2. I was just now reading some past messages, and was amused by the thread about the milk commercial. I read something a couple of weeks ago- there are thousands of mammal species on earth, but only one drinks milk after weaning. Pretty weird to think of it that way. We've just recently cut out milk. My son is allergic, or something, to soymilk, so we had him on organic milk until I read about how milk can cause some of the same health issues as eating meat, so he now drinks rice milk and loves it. Anyway, I just joined this group mainly for some tips on how to deal with the nonvegetarians who make stupid comments. I know all my facts, but when the time comes to respond to something like, " I eat meat and I'm perfectly healthy " , all I can think of to say then is something smart-alecky or mean. I get so very irritated when people shoot off garbage like that with no facts, just their opinion, and have no idea even about their own diet, much less about mine. I've found that a lot of meat-eaters believe that " meat animals " are killed humanely! Ah well, this looks like a good list, I look forward to being part of it. Nice to have others like me out there! Kadee Sedtal
