milk commercial response from....

Well, it's funny that this should come up...

milk is such a hot button for me that I try not to talk about it too much

because it upsets me so!

Our society is so BRAINWASHED when it comes to calcium, cow's milk, and in

general, nutrition. Good for you, Sarah, for not allowing your son to watch the

commercials. Remember one thing: MONEY

That's what's driven behind all the promotions. I was in upstate New York

attending class at a community college and got into (accidentally) a heated

debate with a farm girl over the negatives of growth hormones in milk...back in

the day when I thought my body tolerated milk. She said if they didn't add it,

they'd lose their farm to competition...yet in the next breathe she said that

the industry produces so much milk that a large portion is tossed out. That's

why there's advertisement about kids and drinking milk...or grown ups trying to

lose weight. Listen carefully to the commercial...it adds towards the end in a

quiet blurb that IF followed by a low calorie diet, then the weight lose occurs.

Well, of course...as with anything else, including soy milk!

Anyway, there's only so much education we can do...starting with our families

is the best start!

My " two cents " ,
