Guest guest
the only thing I can offer are the suggestions of what we eat for breakfast here (I have a 3.5 yr old boy, and a 16 mth old girl) *Whole grain pancakes (homemade or with premade mix from hfs) I usually throw a few tbslp of ground flax and/or wheat germ in just to punch up the nutrition..sometimes, a handful of frozen blueberries....and we use the earth balance " butter/mrg " replacement to make sure they get enough fat....and/or some jam. *muscle muffin recipe with bluberries (from raising vegetarian children - someone on this list told me about it!) with earth balance and or jam, peanut, or almond butter *toast with pb,ab, and applesauce or apple butter, also pumkin butter is a huge hit here. *I make smoothies by throwing in some vanilla soymilk, protein powder (I really like spirutein or alive powders, since they have a ton of spirulina, and other great things) and then I let my son throw in the frozen bananas or strawberries, or blueberries, one by one, and then make sure I give them straws, since they always drink anything with a straw! lol * sometimes tofu pumpkin pie... heck, it's a veggie, a protein, and if you use a recipe with blackstrap molasses, it's got iron. *cereal and vanilla soymilk * whole grain waffles * quick breads -all different types... our fave at the moment is a pumpkin prune bread... and then back to the " butter " , pb/ab/jam choices.. *hummous and pita chips. my son usually does almost all the baking /mixing on these breads, which makes him more excited to try them (of course , also adds hours to the cleanup..lol) Lisa Lisa ** SAHM to Leif and Winter
