I recently made the muffins with whole wheat pastry flour and applesauce replacing the oil, in equal amount. They are still awesome. I just started to McDougall plan and am really trying to stay away from fat as much as I can, really only having what is naturally in the food. So, I am converting many of my recipes to fit that. Try them this way. I'm sure you'll like them just as much than with the fat and white flour.
