Guest guest
What's everyone's fave fast homemade veggie burger recipe? We need something new! We've been making tons of these lately: can of black beans, can of rfried onions, breadcrumbs. put it in a food processor, pulse till it seems like dry playdough (use breadcrumbs to make it drier, liquid from can of beans to make it moister) shape into patties, then dust with more breadcrumbs, fry or bake awesome burgers. Guest guest
My veggie burger recipe is a little on the unscientific side but I've found it to be quite versatile. Go through your fridge and round up some leftovers (it works really well with leftover soups or beans and rice). If the leftover are chunky, run them through a few processor. Add 1/2 cup cornmeal, 1/2 cup uncooked oatmeal and 1/4 cup flaxseed meal. (It seems to be the proportions that are important in this so if you have a huge amount you may need to double the amounts). Mix together, if it seems dry add a little water. I use a small scoop to put these on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve your creation with ketchup, salsa, barbeque sauce etc. Katie http://frugalveggiemama.blogspot.com Brings words and photos together (easily) with PhotoMail - it's free and works with Mail.
