Guest guest
You might want to consider talking to Seventh Day Adventist clergy. You will likely find support for your point of view and meet other people who deal with this issue. Also, look into getting more info about the monks who are vegan. As for this being a religious issue or not: When God created man and woman he gave them plants to eat -- not until the flood (i think right after) did he inroduce animals as a part of the diet. Even then, He didn't seem to speak very favorably of it. There are also verses (which i don't remember off the top of my head -- Isaiah?) which talk about the new heaven and new earth (perfection) with animals all living together in peace (sounds pretty veg -- even for the animals). You may be able to site these references. If you are trying to live Biblically, there really is evidence for a cruelty-free life being best. Best wishes, and God's peace as you work through this. Cindy I should not have to do all this. If it were for a religious > reason, i would have the constitution behnd me 100%...but b/c i > choose to be a veg. for ethical and health reasons??? There are > Catholics who are veg. there is an entire congigation of monks who > are vegan...the Bible says " THOU SHALL NOT KILL " ...But I do this b.c > i want to be healthier and i want my son to be healthy. > > SO- what should i do? > > Elizabeth
