Guest guest
I just took this great book out at the library, called " The Wild Vegetarian Cookbook " by " wildman " Stever Brill. Its full of recipes for wild food and tips for foraging. I've been totally inspired to go mushroom hunting (I'm facinated by chicken mushrooms. Apparently they taste just like chicken...) but the one thing the book lacks is pictures of the plants, mushrooms, etc, that he uses in his recipes. Does anyone know of a good book on edible mushrooms or edible wild foods in general that has clear descriptions and good quality pictures? I've tried doing some searches but i've had trouble finding pictures that are clear enough for me to feel confident enough to go out looking on my own. Thanks! Folks in NYC can meet him and learn to forage, and prepare a meal from the findings. > I've been totally inspired to go mushroom hunting (I'm facinated by > chicken mushrooms. Rachael - I'd get a good book (here're a few: http://tinyurl.com/ljzsm ), and I would be extremely cautious!!! Some of those 'shrooms acn be deadly. Is there anyone at the cooperative extension office?
