Maria,

I make asparagus this way:

Asparagus

I pound asparagus

2 Tbsp. ghee

5 cloves garlic, minced

3 Tbsp. toasted sesame seeds

2 tsp. lemon zest

Steam lightly asparagus. While steaming toast sesame seeds at about medium

low ( about 9:00 on an electic small burner) stirring often. Lightly saute

garlic in ghee. Pour ghee, garlic over asparagus. Sprinkle sesame seeds and

lemon zest to finish. I use a microplane zester, which looks like a grater or

rasp. It can zest hard or soft peels and peels that other zesters do not touch.

It's my new newest kitchen " toy " .

Farmers Market Challenge

I just noticed that our main farmers market will be opening in a couple

weeks. I thought it might be interesting as the spring/summer

progresses and different things come into season at different times that we

could share recipes or preparation tips.

For example, I think asparagus comes into season pretty early and if

someone has a favorite recipe or way of eating/preparing it that they'd

like to share that might give a new spin on a favorite vegetable.

Thanks. That looks great! I have wanted to get a microplane for a while. Now

I have an excuse!

Thanks, also, for the estimated time to toast the sesame seeds. I have an

electric oven/stovetop and have never done that before, so that will be a big

help.
