Guest guest
I'm quite famaliar with jujubes, nope not the candy.LOL They are a hard dried red date used in Chinese and Korean cooking. They don't really taste like a regular brown date but you can sub. The jujubes are in small clear plastic packets in the Asian stores but usually rather hard to find. You do need to presoak them before you cook with them and the little pit is very time comsuming to remove. Donna akfral wrote: In a message dated 3/30/2006 6:14:51 P.M. I bet my Asian store has them, (believe me I'll look) we have a huge (oh I meant HUGE) Asian, Korean, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, etc community here in Ann Arbor. I think there are over 50 countries represented in my daughter's 330 student elementary school. Lots of good people we try to get to know before they move away after they graduate from the University of Michigan. AmyF
