Gotta toss a hippie recipe at you. Had to give it a good name.....LOL

Last night I found the market had fresh various greens 3 for 99 cents so

here's how I cooked up my mustard greens.

Mean Mr. Mustard Turnip Greens with Pineapple

1 bunch of turnip greens, washed and torn into pieces

1 Tbl. olive oil

1/2 onion chopped

2 garlic cloves, crushed

1 tsp. mustard seeds

1/2 tsp. cumin

dash of red pepper flakes

1 tsp. Mrs. Dash

2 celery stalks chopped

1 carrot grated

1/2 cup pineapple chunks

splash soy or tamari sauce

Heat tbl. olive oil in a Dutch oven or soup pot:

Saute onion, garlic, celery and spices for 2 minutes. Add carrot and greens

and stir to coat, keep heat up to medium and add 1/4 cup water and cook as you

stir often until greens are tender. Takes about 15 minutes.

Warm the pineapple in a small sauce pan.

Serve greens with a few pieces of pineapple on top and a splash of soy or

tamari sauce.

I ate this as a side dish with steamed brown rice.

Mean Mister Mustard sleeps in the park,

Shaves in the dark

Trying to save paper.

Sleeps in a hole in the road

Saving up to buy some clothes.
