Guest guest
I think this is what our local Middle Eastern restaurant uses, or something very similar. I always thought it was a thinned hummus. AmyF
Guest guest
Kharma- the Aunties are going nuts on the Net!!!! OK. I've been instructed to send you a sauce mix for your falafel. But since the Aunties all have different ideas of which sauce to send.... and setting up a summit with Trump and Martha is easier, I'm sending you mine!! A combination of both yogurt and tahini. @@@@@ Tahini Falafal Sauce 1 cup tahini (sesame seed paste) 3 tablespoons lemon juice, fresh is better 1 clove garlic, minced Salt to taste 1/4 cup fresh parsley, minced (or coriander if preferred) Yougurt, sufficient to thin tahini to taste Onion, fresh minced to taste (optional) Cucumber, tomato, lettuce, onion, etc Place the tahini in a bowl and add a little yougurt to thin it out. Stir in the lemon juice, garlic, parsley, onion and salt. Taste and correct the seasoning. Add more yougurt to taste. Sauce must be the consistency of mayonnaise. Place falafel balls into the pocket of pita bread and pour the tahini sauce into the sandwich. Add tomatoes, lettuce, onions, as desired. Adapted from Indo-European Foods Formatted by Chupa Babi in MC: 05.16.00 ChupaNote: to avoid soggy sandwichess, butter the bread first or to avoid fat calories serve over hot dry grilled pita as open-faced sandwich. -----
