Guest guest
Have been making this for more than 30 years. The only chocolate cake recipe I ever use. Makes a dark, moist, delicious cake. Doesn't even need frosting. 2 cups water 2/3 cup oil 8 heaping tablespoons cocoa 2 cups flour 2 cups sugar 1/2 tspn. salt 2 eggs 2 tspns. baking soda 1 tspn. vanilla In a saucepan combine water, oil and cocoa. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Combine dry ingredients (except baking soda) in a bowl and add chocolate mixture. Beat slowly using electric beater. Add eggs, baking soda and vanilla. Mix well. Pour into greased 9 X 13 " pan or two 9 " round pans. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until cake tests done.
