Guest guest
Pine Nut and Saffron Bread 50g/2 oz/3/8 cup pinenuts 0.5 tsp saffron strands 1Tbsp boiling water 275ml/1.25 cups water less 1 Tbspful 2 Tbsp oil 450 g/3 cups strong white bread flour 1.5tsp salt 2 tsp light brown soft sugar 1.5 tsp instant/fast acting yeast Toast pine nuts in a skillet over a low heat until pale golden. Put saffron in a small bowl and add 1Tbsp boiling water, leave until cold. Add ingredients except pine nuts to the breadmaker in the order specified in the manual. Set at special or basic white setting. Add pine nuts at appropriate time. This loaf comes out a fabulous golden colour and is really yummy. It comes from the Complete Bread Machine Cookbook by Sonia Allison which I bought recently and every recipe I have tried has been amazing.
