Guest guest
I had to make this after I found it on the Internet surfing around. It's one of the best sandwich spreads yet. Adas Careh (lentil nutter middle eastern) 1 cup lentils 1/2 tsp. salt 2 1/4 cups water 1 tbl. olive oil 6 green onions, chopped (I used the tops too) 1 or 2 garlic cloves, sliced (I minced them) 1 1/2 tbls. parsley 1 dash cayenne 1 dash turmeric 1/4 cup water as needed Combine lentils with 2 1/4 cups water along with salt and boil until soft. Maybe 25 minutes or so. Drain and reserve the lentil broth. Heat oil in a skillet and saute the onions and garlic until very tender. Add parsley and spices and saute for another minute. Combine lentils, lentil broth, and onion mixture into blender or food processor and process. Add a little water if needed to make a spreadable consistency. Chill for a few hours to blend flavors. Spread on bread or use as a dip. Mail Bring photos to life! New PhotoMail makes sharing a breeze.
