Guest guest Posted March 13, 2006 Report Share Posted March 13, 2006 Creole Rice 1 can (14-1/2 oz.) reduced sodium vegetable broth 1 can (8 oz.) reduced sodium tomato sauce 1 cup yellow onion, finely chopped 1 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 1/4 tsp. dried thyme 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper 1 cup long grain white rice 1. In a medium sauce pan, add broth, tomato sauce, onion, bell pepper, garlic, thyme, and black pepper. Mix until well combined. 2. Bring broth mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir in rice. Reduce heat to low. 3. Simmer, covered, until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed, about 20 minutes. Remove saucepan from heat and fluff rice with a fork. Place rice in a serving dish.
