Guest guest
Thanks Susie, I printed this up. I think this sounds easy for me to try. Now I have to find the okra, I don't see it very often but I never look for it since I never bought it to cook. I want to try it because I'm trying all vegetables now. I liked beets alot. Thanks again for sending this recipe in, Paul , " artichoke72x " <artichoke72x wrote: > > this is the absolute best fried okra recipe. it turns > out crispy (and not slimy at all) everytime. i > recommend this for anyone who has never tried okra > before, or who thinks they don't like okra. after > having okra fried this way, you will love it. > > The Perfect Fried Okra > > 1 pound fresh okra > 1 quart water > 1/4 cup salt > cornmeal > oil for frying > > Wash okra well; drain. I never get it right, but I know people who do and they've told me a few hints (that I haven't tried yet, but I know Donna's mentioned them too): make sure the oil is hot. DOn't add too many things to the pan at once, as it cools the oil down. Make sure the oil is hot before you put your next batch in. Have fun. My DH loves fried okra (well, he loves okra any which way; he's a 'Bama boy).
