Rolling Stones 1 cup all purpose flour 1 cup walnuts, ground fine 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 cup vegetable shortening 2 tbls. honey or maple syrup, warmed 1 tsp. coffee liqueur (Kahlua) Powdered sugar for rolling * see notes Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Lightly grease 2 baking sheets. Combine flour, walnuts and salt, stir to blend. In a large bowl beat vegetable shortening, honey, and liqueur until smooth. Gradually blend in the dry ingedients, blend well. Pinch off walnut sized pieces of dough and roll into balls. Place 1-inch apart on prepared baking sheets. Bake for 23 to 25 minutes until lightly colored. Roll in powdered sugar and transfer to rack to cool. After cookies have cooled, roll in powdered sugar a second time. *Note - you can add some cinnamon or ground cardamom or cocoa powder to the podwered sugar you roll the cookies in.
