Guest guest
Nope, she told me to single one out and pat it one time with the palm of my hand and listen for a deep beatway down in the center of the melon like a drum, not a flat sound that rings near the top of the melon. It works everytime. She told me that an avocado has such a thick skin that you can't tell by feeling the sides if it's ripe. Sometimes they are soft and over ripe with a hard feel on the outside. Here's how I was told to pick a good avocado if I need a ripe one right away. Press the little knob of the steam in and if it gently moves in, then the avocado is ripe and will be perfect on the side. Works ike a charm. You wouls laugh if you saw me in the produce section, I always help people in there. Now when I go to the huge Asian produce store I'm in training and asking questions. --- genny_y2k <genny_y2k wrote: > Donna, > Did the woman tell you to thump the watermelon?
