Guest guest
I worked with a Cherokee woman, she told me it's the cucumber seeds that cause heartburn on some individuals. I gave this info to Sissy so she started to hollow the centers out of her cucumbers and she and her husband don't suffer anymore. Anyone else ever hear of that? Now how does Sissy eat raw jalapenos but has problems with cucumber seeds...........LOL This same woman taught me how to pick a perfect watermelon and I haven't missed yet. I see both cucumbers in our markets, are the English cucumbers the same as hothouse??? The long thin cucumbers? Guest guest
the english cukes are the long ones, normally celophane wrapped and have a thinner skin, so most people don't peel them. The seeds are smaller, and kids normally prefer them. I leave the skin on all my cukes.. more nutrients, flavour (and probably pesticides) but I scrub them reaaly well

Guest guest
They sell some kinda seedless cucumber...English cucumbers, I think is what they're called. They're individually wrapped and I've seen Rachael Ray and Emeril Lagasse use them. ***Sara***
