Guest guest
All are in the soil as fertilizers , pesticides , herbicides, etc. sprayed on trees, plants and fruit. I know we can't all eat organic all the time but when we can we should support the farms that are organic. I heard on the news last week that children fed organic food with little or no chemicals were tested after just a couple days and showed noticable reduced amounts in their systems. Also there was a scare the last few years with fruit(melons etc.) having salmonella and botulism organisms on the out side and when the fruit is sliced the bacteria is introduced into the fruit. Remember that food in other countries do not have the same laws governing chemicals sprays and fertilizers and there are some countries still using chemicals banned in our country. DDT for one. I guess we just do the best we can with what we have and request organic food items from our local grocers. My regular supermarkets carry many organic products now including fresh vegetables and fruits. Deanna
