Guest guest
Hi Deanna-do you place the pot down in the boot? What type plant since the cowboy boot is so tall? I'm trying to picture this clever idea. I found an old jello mold and I'm going to try that one today, doesn't everyone have a jello mold just sitting around doing nothing? lOl Chelsea , " genny_y2k " <genny_y2k wrote: > > The jello mold planter idea is a great one. Guest guest
-Chelsea, I STUFF the boots with potting soil. Especially careful to stuff the toe. If there are separations in the soles and uppers it works good for drainage. I also make slits in the toes of the boots and place small plants in them. The plants depend on the person that I am making them for. I often plant cowboy boots with cactus or succulents . Hens and Chicks are my favorite. Boots make great herb planters. The boots can also be hung with a macrame hanger(great thrift store finds) Old work boots work great too with plants, especially herbs. Another idea for using grandpa's old hat or granmother's garden hat is to use it as a planter. These would require a pot being placed inside. What a lovely way to remember a dear relative or loved one. No end to recycle and thrift store finds.
