A major intersection of 5 roads who all come together to a fountain with the love god Eros in the middle. I also read that the word Piccadilly might have taken it's name from a 17th century frilly collar called a piccadil. The story goes on to say that the dressmaker got rich from this collar and built a house near what is now known as Piccadilly Circus. It's also possible that the actual word wasn't understood correctly and no one knew how to spell it. This has happened to a lot of words in our language.
