My name is Jade, I live in NYC and I have been a vegetarian for 18 years, vegan for the last 9. I LOVE to cook and am always interested in new recipes, tips, ideas, etc. I am very happy to be here and look forward to browsing recipes. All the best- Jade P.S. What is everyone making tonight? I am going to make: Seitan Bourguignon 3 medium onions -- sliced 1/2 pound mushrooms -- sliced 1/2 cup water 2 cups seitan -- cubed 1 cup red wine 1 1/2 cups vegetable broth -- or seitan liquid 1/3 cup soy sauce 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram or two teaspoons fresh marjoram 1/24 teaspoon dried thyme on two teasoonoons fresh thyme freshly ground black pepper to taste 2 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch -- mixed with 1/4 cup water Place the onion and mushrooms in a large pot with the water. Saute for about 15 minutes, or until tender. Add the remaining ingredients, except the cornstarch mixture. Cover and cook over medium-low heat for about 45 minutes. Add the cornstarch mixture. Your recipe sounds delish! I'll make sure it's filed into the recipe file by the weekend.
