Guest guest
Pat, Yes you are correct about the spelling. The English call it Piccalilli, American country folk call it Pick-a-dilly and many call it Chow Chow. My canning recipe book gives all three names. Chow Chow is usually make hot with chili. Fun to make with left over veggies at harvest time. I've always wondered where they got that name. Samantha Pat, Yes you are correct about the spelling. Guest guest
Samantha, I think the word *dilly* can refer to both something like a dill pickle the word dilly is slang/short for delightful. As in *isn't that a dilly of a mix *.Somewhere along the way people put the words together and came up with Pick a Dilly. In other words pick from the garden a cucumber make a dill pickle. Chow in Chinese means *mixture*. In other words a delightful conglomerate mixture. LOL. Also like a flea market or a circus..Is that fun or what?
