Guest guest
These are svery good as a side dish, stuffed in a pita, on top of a salad, good as a hot snack. They are good cold also. Best thing is, kids enjoy them. I get very tired of the frozen burger patties. Tofu Oven Bites 1 (1lb) tub of extra firm tofu 1/4 cup lite low sodium soy sauce 2 tbls. maple syrup or brown sugar 2 tbls. ketchup 1 tbl. vinegar 1 dash of Tabasco 1 tbl. toasted sesame seeds 1 or 2 garlic clove(s), pressed 1/4 tsp. black pepper 1/2 tsp. to 1 tsp. liquid smoke Drain tofu and press out water with a few paper towels. Cut tofu into 1/2-inch slices and then cut the slices into 1/2-inch cubes and set on paper towels to drain a time more. In a large bowl blend all other ingredients together until well blended. Taste marinade and adjust flavors to your liking. Carefully add tofu cubes into bowl of marinade and cover, place in refrigerator for 1 hr. letting tofu absorb flavors. Preheat oven to 375F. and spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray. Place tofu on sheet and bake 15 mins. turn tofu and bake another 15 mins. until golden brown.
