Guest guest
This is my favorite chili. Chelsea One Good Chili (slow cooker or stove top) 1 1/2 cups TVP reconstituted 3-4 med. onions finely chopped 3 cloves minced or chopped fresh garlic 1 1/2 Tbs. cider or red wine vinegar 1 16 oz. can chili beans or black beans 1 14-16oz. can chopped tomatoes 2 14-16oz can tomato sauce 3 bay leaves (or to taste) 1 tsp red pepper flakes or cayenne 4 tsps chili powder 2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp allspice 2 tsp salt. 2 cups water for crock pot, OR 2 Qts water for stove top Combine all ingredients and cook. Cook 6-8 hrs. in crock pot, or simmer 3-4 hrs. stovetop. Pull out the bay leaves and serve over cooked spaghetti noodles toss with some fresh chopped basil or oregano if you like. Top the chili with, shredded cheese, chopped onion, or chopped cilantro. Serve with salad, corn bread or garlic bread. For thicker consistency add 3oz can tomato paste if desired. This freezes really well, and actually tastes better. Left-overs, if you have any, are especially good on veg. hot dogs with onions, mustard, and ketchup. Or over baked potatoes or rice. Autos.
