Guest guest Posted February 10, 2006 Report Share Posted February 10, 2006 These are simple to make but long on flavor Cheese and Dill Scones 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1/4 cup fresh parsley (2 tsps. dried works) 4 ounces (1 cup) cheddar cheese, shredded 1 tbsp baking powder 2 tsp dried dill weed 1/2 tsp salt 3/4 cup cold butter 1/2 cup half and half 2 lg.eggs, slightly beaten Additional cheddar cheese, Heat the oven to 400 F. Combine flour, parsley, 1 cup cheddar cheese, baking powder, dill weed, and salt in a medium bowl. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the half and half and the eggs just until moistened. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead until smooth, about one minute. Divide the dough in half. Roll each half into an 8 inch circle. Cut each circle into 8 wedges. Place 1 inch apart on a greased baking sheet. Sprinkle with additional cheddar cheese if desired.
