Guest guest
In digest #493, Jane advised: " I rub my hands on the stainless steel faucet to get the garlic smell off my hands! Really. It works for me. " In digest #494, Amy also offered: " Do you have a stainless steel spoon or small bowl? Hold that and rub it with the hands, under running water. It really sounds like magic, eh, but it works. Must be stainless steel; other metals don't work. ~ Thanks for this suggestion you two. [also thank you to the gal who sent me this advice offlist]. This worked like a charm and my daughter is going to pass it on in her cooking class as well to help the next person who is assigned the chopping of garlic. In digest #494, Lynn offered: " Remove cooking smells from hands by rinsing them with vinegar and then wash thoroughly with soap and water. " ~ Thank you, Lynn. Unfortunately this one didn't work so well. She had tried this tip as one of my suggestions and for some reason with the garlic scent it wasn't effective. i always thought vinegar was a smell remover, too. But that stainless steel tip really did the trick. ~ pt ~ " Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing, and always come back again to where they were. The life of a man is a circle from childhood to childhood and so it is everything where power moves.
