Guest guest
I rub my hands on the stainless steel faucet to get the garlic smell off my hands! Really. It works for me. Jane ~ My daughter is doing a cooking class in school this quarter, and Friday she had to chop fresh garlic. She keeps complaining she can't get the scent off her hands; she said it smelled fine at first but now it makes her feel sick to smell it. Any ideas for removing the stench from her hands? i was thinking lemon juice, but i was out of lemons, so she used all sorts of soaps and some white vinegar. No luck so far. ~ pt ~
Guest guest
I wonder also if vegetable oil would work. It draws out the heat from hot pepper-burned hands, so maybe it would do the same for garlic-scented hands? -Erin , " Jane " <twoslim wrote: > > I rub my hands on the stainless steel faucet to get the garlic smell off my hands! Guest guest
In my recipe tips I found this remedy and another one... HAND CLEANER Remove cooking smells from hands by rinsing them with vinegar and then wash thoroughly with soap and water. Guest guest
Do you have a stainless steel spoon or small bowl? Hold that and rub it with the hands, under running water. It really sounds like magic, eh, but it works. Must be stainless steel; other metals don't work. > ~ My daughter is doing a cooking class in school this > quarter, and Friday she had to chop fresh garlic. > She keeps complaining she can't get the scent off her > hands; she said it smelled fine at first but now it makes > her feel sick to smell it. Guest guest
Yes, stainless steel is really the only way to get the smell out. Have you seen the gimmicky stainlness steel " bars of soap " ? If your faucet is SS, like Jane's, then just use the faucet.
