Questions about flexitarianism Meg

I'd say I'm probably 90-95% vegetarian too, due to the fact that I too do

ingest medication that most likely contains gelatin, and sometimes I probably

ingest things that I don't know had meat product in it until after I've

ingested it.

I get a lot of stigma from certain members of my family over my eating

habits. My cousin, for some reason thinks I'm just " playing " vegetarian and

will

someday go back to having a regular omnivorous diet. Why? I dunno. All I know

is that a big part of the reason I'd like to go flexitarian is because when

we're having a special meal, I don't have to make my family feel bad that I

won't eat what they're cooking, and also, if I'm at a friend's house, I

wouldn't wanna diss their parents (or them) by not eating part of the meal.

I don't have much of a social life either, LOL, usually when I do meet with

a friend, it doesn't involve eating or anything, and if it did, I could

pretty surely get at least a little something that I can eat. Luckily though, I

don't go out too much, so I don't have to worry about this one too much.

(That's not to say I'm anti-social, I'm just a homebody, LOL.)

I get some strange looks/words whenever I won't eat something that someone

else might consider vegetarian, such as chicken or beef broth. When it comes

to dairy, it's different - I will eat dairy. I just don't like eating things

that an animal had to die for. Luckily, some of my family is getting more used

to my habits. My grandparents were OK with it from day one. It's just other

people who are weird about it, LOL.

You're right - not being the main cook does it make it hard, but I usually

keep veggie burgers and " chicken " patties stocked so I have something to eat

when everyone else is eating meat. The only time I don't have veggie burgers

or anything like that is when I, as it usually does come with being a teen, am

broke, LOL.

Love & Peace Up,

***Sara***
