Guest guest
This loaf is wonderful (my second time making it). I did change it around this time since I didn't have tomato paste or BBQ sauce. I added a little more oats and bread crumbs, I sauteed a grated carrot with the onions and celery. I added a dash of liquid smoke to the TVP as it was reconstituting and I used ketchup instead of tomato paste or BBQue sauce. Mom and Mo both loved it. She put Veganaise on top of her slice, Mo used salsa and I put horseradish on mine. Made a nice thick sandwich for lunch today. I highly recommend this recipe. It's located in the recipe files under substitutes and then TVP. I baked it in a loaf pan (got that Paul) and when I turned it over it turned out perfectly on the service plate and sliced right down. Now next time I think I will add a huge pile of mashed potatoes to the top and bake the last 15 minutes, I'm going to make a crevice down the center of the mashed potatoes and add some soy cheese. Thanks again for this delicious loaf. Donna " Secretly I wanted to look like Jimi Hendrix; but I never could quite pull it off. Guest guest
Mixing the small spalash of liquid smoke with the ketchup it gave it the BBQ flavor and I loved the carrot in there too. This is a favorite and I moved the printed recipe to the front of my cookbook so I remember to make it often. Thank you for posting it.
