Guest guest
In digest#456 Sara asked sweetly, " What do you all think of this [flexitarianism] and are there any here? The reason I'm looking into it is because it can be hard to avoid eating meat in my current living situation. " ~ i am not a flexi-tarian now, but i can totally relate to your situation, because i was there in the same spot when i was 15 years old and wanted to be a vegetarian. i did the flexi-thing and just told everyone i didn't eat red meat, but i would eat chicken and fish if they were served with the family meal. This seemed to make it easier for everyone in my home [my mom, dad and sister], and also for extended family members at family gatherings. Once i moved away and went to college i was able to go vegetarian, but when i had to live with the folks i could not do it.... which is not to say it would have been impossible, but more that i had so much more on my mind and [pardon the pun] on my plate, emotionally, that i didn't care to devote all my energy into avoiding meat 100% of the time. But that said, it sure was sweet when i got moved out on my own and could go full veggie! *lol* You do what is right for you, and nobody has any right to throw any stones because we are all on our own paths... its ALL good. ~ pt ~ I never saw a discontented tree. Guest guest
Exactly!!! :-) In my current living situation, avoiding meat is just very hard, ya know? I mean, when we have like steak or something, I can avoid it and just take the side dishes, but when we have something like lasagna where there's almost no way to avoid it, that's when it gets really hard. I'm glad a lotta ya'll know where I've been and where I'm thinking of going and I'm glad you're supportive of it, no matter which way I choose to go. This is gonna be borderline on speaking of animal rights, but even if I do go ahead with going flexitarian, there's no way you'll catch me eating KFC. That's just outta the question for me, LOL. Love & Peace Up, ***Sara***
