Guest guest
Nice neighborhood *grin* I'm Susan, mother to two boys 9 & 12, wife to one slightly grumpy truck driver. I'm definitely the only one in the house who enjoys vegetarian dishes. Hubby tolerates them most of the time. I'm not totally vegetarian, but try to eat meatless most of the week. When hubby is home it's more complicated. I usually eat what I make for him (meat or not...I just pick out as much as I can). It's simply too complicated to make 2 seperate entrees.... The meatless thing is, for me, not a moral issue but a health one. I simply don't feel well when I eat meat in any quantity. During the week, however, when dh is on the road I eat almost exclusively vegetarian. I've accumulated some fantastic recipes that I'll share when I'm a little more coherent (read: had more coffee!). Nice to meet you all!
Guest guest
I agree with you, Susan. I have no moral objection to eating meat, and I did eat it for 50 years. I had very poor health and doctors couldn't fgure out what what causing my problems.  Then I quit eating meat and although it did not reverse the damage done, it stopped the progression of the damage. t was the meat that was poisoning me. It wasn't a true allergic reaction because there was no hystimine involved, but it was poisoning me because my body just doesn't want it. Occasionally someone will give me something they claim is vegetarian and actually has meat broth in it.  Within a couple hours I can tell that it was there.  I have been meat free for about 7 years now. My husband is a carnivour, I cook vegetarian though. When he goes out for lunch or when we go out to eat, he can have whatever pleases him, but I don't cook it.  Katie --- On Sat, 12/5/09, Susan <sbssl65 wrote: Susan <sbssl65 Hi!
