Guest guest
This is what it is for us: I select recipes that freeze well (and preferably those that would freeze well in a gallon size ziploc - they take up less room in your freezer!), buy or assemble all the ingredients the week before, wear comfortable shoes and cook all day. Once a month. I usually make anywhere from 15-21 meals and usually that means some favorite recipes get doubled. Just label (very important; i learned the hard way!) the containers/bags and freeze. Dinner prep means thawing the night before and tossing it in a skillet or oven or crockpot before serving. We save money on our grocery bill this way and I think less food gets wasted, goes bad, etc I usually do this on Saturdays and my mom comes over to help (she likes to clean as we go and that helps tremendously!) And then on Saturday night after i have filled our freezer, we all go out to dinner because i'm so pooped out! haha! Thanks, K for the Ellen's Kitchen site! Awesome! I can't believe I haven't seen it earlier. -elizabeth
