Guest guest
Hi, New to the group. About three years ago my husband gave up meat. He does eat fish. I tried all the veggie products and found them wanting even the heartily recommended Amy's brand. Someone recently told me about TVP. I've used it in chili and stew and am finally satisfied. I am unable to find out info about it's shelf life. Does anyone know how long it keeps once cooked. A site noted to treat it like meat once it's cooked, which meant putting it in the fridge after cooking. But I'd like to know how long it will keep once refrigerated. I'd also like to know if it freezes well. Any answers will be most appreciated. The change in diet has been a challenge, but we've come up with some interesting recipes that are satisfying, so it's great. It will be nice to meet you all. Guest guest
It doesn't last that long in my house but I'm sure tomato sauce w/TVP lasts a good week. I 've froze chili and tomato sauce no problem. --- On Mon, 12/29/08, Celia Brewer <celiab99 wrote: Celia Brewer <celiab99 TVP Question Monday, December 29, 2008, 4:00 PM Hi, New to the group. Guest guest
Thanks Laura. It seems that it is just treated like meat. Thanks for the info on freezing. My husband and I can't finish a pot of chili or stew. Happy New Year!
