Guest guest Posted August 13, 2008 Report Share Posted August 13, 2008 To cut down on sodium from other bases you may use for soups and stews, try making a " base " from some split pea. Just cook split peas in some water until you have the consistency of split pea soup, and add it to your soups and stews. most of the time you don't notice it is there, unless you use a lot of it. also, spaghetti sauce mixed with vegetarian brown gravy makes a great stew starter, make sure you add onion and garlic. hugs, Chanda Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
