Guest guest
My favorites are Worthington/Loma Vega-Links. Their Big Franks are good, highly seasoned, and so are the Linketts. I heat them in their broth in a covered pot on the stove, or slice in circles and stir fry with onions and bell peppers. Also good to heat on prongs over a fire, or sliced up in Vegetarian Baked Beans. It makes a good sandwich spread, mashing them up or putting in a food processor and then mix with some onions, diced dill pickles, and veganaise. I split them long ways, but not cutting all the way thru and stuffing with cheese then cover with BBQ sauce in a casserole dish and bake. There are so many good ways to use them. These hot dogs come in cans so will last on the pantry shelf until you need them. I love that. http://www.kelloggs.com/brand/worthington/ You can buy the the best selection of their frozen or canned products at ABC's Adventist Book Centers, which are world wide. Many health food stores carry them and Amazon carries them for great prices (less than $4/can and no sales tax and no shipping costs). http://www.amazon.com/Worthington-Veja-Links-19-Ounce-Cans-Pack/dp/B000BF3AL0%3F\ SubscriptionId%3D19BAZMZQFZJ6G2QYGCG2%26tag%3Dsquidooa179928-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2\ %26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB000BF3AL0 Enjoy and I'm glad you are giving others a try. They do taste different from each other. Judy - Audrey Snyder Thursday, August 07, 2008 7:52 AM Re: Welcome to all the newbies Thanks to everybody for the nice welcome messages! Ok, here's my major question: what is the best fake hot dog? I don't care for Morningstar Farms' hot dogs (but I love their corn dogs!) Guest guest
I'm sorry, I think I misunderstood - you can buy those hotdogs at a book store? I'm not sure I understand. I went to the Adventist Book Center web site - and I didn't see them listed. I have several Churches in the area so I could pick them up, I guess. Can you clarify? Guest guest
They have a health food store in everyone of them and they have a wonderful selection of canned and frozen meat substitutes, dried veggie chicken and veggie beaf style broth mixes, veganaise, Toffuti products, Mori-nu products and loads more. They don't post them on their website, which I don't understand, but they have stores all over the world, if you click on store locator on the side bar. Then you can call them if it is to far for you to travel to one and ask them about different products and they will send them to you. http://www.adventistbookcenter.com/ I just love their stores. It is half Christian book store and half Natural health food store. http://www.vegefood.com/ushopabc.html - Timmi Mom Monday, August 11, 2008 2:27 PM Re: Favorite Veggie Dogs I'm sorry, I think I misunderstood - you can buy those hotdogs at a book store?
