Guest guest
Boca doesn't make it anymore! Any place else to get something similar? I want to make jambalaya... Audrey
Guest guest
I just made Sausage Gumbo and I tried it with Tofurkey Italian Sausage Links and I thought it was yucky! I would love to find some tasty fake sausage. The Morningstar Farms sausage patties are good but I don't know about thier links. Nikita > Boca doesn't make it anymore! Guest guest
We sure differ in tastes, don't we? I toss the Tofurkey Italian sausage into my spaghetti sauce the the meateaters don't know the difference. I'm not huge on alternative products but I enjoy that one. Guest guest
It's all a matter of one particular taste. I love the Morningstar Farms links and breakfast strips. Do you bake them? That is the way we like them best. Judy - Nikita Thursday, August 07, 2008 8:28 PM Re: Fake smoked sausage? Guest guest
Italian sausage wouldn't be the right thing to put in gumbo, I understand. You need smoked sausage for that, and I don't know where to find that, either! I love the Boca italian sausage, great in spaghetti! As far as Morningstar farms goes, I think the patties are better than the links. They taste the same, but the links seem to dry out faster. Guest guest
I liked the Morning Star products, but when I looked at all of the ingredients, I stopped buying them. There is no reason that the ingredient list should be as long as it is! No telling what all of that stuff is!!! , " wwjd " <jtwigg wrote: > > It's all a matter of one particular taste. Guest guest
What about using smoked tempeh or smoked tofu instead? or just marianating tofu or seitan with vegan worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke? Just a couple of suggestions. Cherie , " Nikita " <nikita4animals wrote: > > I just made Sausage Gumbo and I tried it with Tofurkey Italian Sausage > Links and I thought it was yucky! Guest guest
Maybe I should try them in spaghetti like you said. It smelled sooooo good when I was frying them up but after I added them to the gumbo they seemed to get a sort of soggy. Guest guest
I have never tried baking them... usually just saute a bit. I need to try thier links. Do they taste the same as the patties?
