Eco-Judas Moore now Shilling for Nukes.

By Captain Paul Watson

Patrick Moore has parlayed his former

status of President of Greenpeace Canada into a very

profitable business.

His company Green Spirit was set up to

justify pretty much anyone who wishes to make a buck

off of destroying habitat and species.

He has championed salmon farmers, clear

cut loggers, miners, landfills, the chlorine industry,

plastics, and defended the move to destroy the

Endangered Species Act in the United States.

The most right wing anti-environmentalist

in the United States Congress Richard Pombo ®

California has lauded Patrick as the " only real

environmentalist. "

That is because Moore calls himself an

environmentalist yet defends every rancher, logger,

farmer, developer and industrialist who needs his

support to justify their efforts to destroy

eco-systems.

Patrick's argument is always the same.

" Hey, I'm a co-founder of Greenpeace and the former

President of Greenpeace Canada and I think (fill in

the blank) is swell.

This time around he thinks nuclear power

is swell and he is selling it as a solution to global

warming.

Moore recently wrote that " investing in a

nuclear energy infrastructure is the only realistic

means of reducing fossil fuel emissions while meeting

our growing energy demands. "

He actually cites the real problem.

Growing energy demands and this is the result of

growing populations and growing demands on resources.

It is escalating human populations and the

emergence of growing material wealth in former

underdeveloped nations that is fueling these demands.

More people and more wealth translates into more

energy consumption.

Nuclear power will not prevent coal, oil

and gas from being utilized. It will just make it

cheaper. Moore is not pushing nuclear power as an

alternative, he is promoting it as an additional

source of power.

Until the nuclear industry can find a safe

way to deal with radioactive waste, it can never be a

safe alternative power source.

I will myself support the nuclear industry

when it can provide an answer to what will be done

with the hundreds of thousands of tons of radioactive

material.

Put it in the Ocean? Over my dead body! Bury it in the

ground. Sure we love contaminated ground water.

Isolate it on South Pacific Islands. I don't think so.

Patrick presents us with a choice of being

executed by hanging or firing squad. The results are

the same.

The solution is a reduction of human

populations, reduction in consumption of resources and

a new ecologically friendly political, cultural and

economic system.

Impossible. Maybe but sometimes the

impossible is the only possible solution.

Meanwhile, Dr. Moore is laughing all the

way to the bank because making people feel good is a

profitable industry and making corporations feel good

is a really profitable industry.

Captain Paul Watson is also a co-founder of Greenpeace

and is currently the President of the Sea Shepherd

Conservation Society and a National Director of the

Sierra Club USA
