Guest guest
I've been told by doctors that they do not receive more than about half a day of Nutrition in med school. Guest guest
Yes I have been told by several doctors basically the same thing. Isn't it interesting that Doctors take the hippocratic oath named after the so called father of modern medicine, Hippocrates who 2000 years ago said and I quote " Let medicine be thy food and food by thy medicine " . Are they taking perhaps the hippocritic oath??LOL , The Stewarts <stews9@c...> wrote: > I've been told by doctors that they do not receive more than about half a > day of Nutrition in med school. > > On Thursday, July 8, 2004, at 05:53 AM, > wrote: > > > > > Well, Virgil, most doctors *are* against holistic > > healing/alternative medicine - anything not taught in > > med school. Guest guest
Yes, well I guess wellness and preventative medicine doesn't pay as well as having people with illnesses come in constantly for appointments and buying all those " medicines. " The health profession is in business to make money, not keep people from getting sick in the first place. They would seemingly rather treat sickness than prevent it (with rare exceptions, of course). The ones that knock holistic medicine also seem to forget that a sizable portion of prescription drugs have come from natural plant sources - herbs (much safer in whole form, and without the side effects of extracts) - and that many of the other forms of healing have also been in practice with good results for thousands of years. Medicine seems to have just degenerated into another corporate business. Luckily, some doctors are finally seeing the light and actively trying to do something about these problems (McGregor, McDougall, etc.).
