Guest guest Posted July 5, 2004 Report Share Posted July 5, 2004 I am really excited that an organic co-op has finally started up in my town. I finally visited the new co-op. I am really pleased. Houston has needed a co-op like this for a long time. This one is open Wednesdays and Saturdays. Central City is all organic and a lot of their stuff is grown locally. If you want to visit, I suggest that you get there early because they don't have refrigeration, and their greens were wilted by the time I got there in the afternoon. Some of their pieces were in bad condition, but I got two pounds of zucchini and two lovely eggplants that were 1.5 pounds each. They also had more unusual stuff like dandelion greens, which I dearly love. You don't have to join the co-op- you can buy piece by piece and that's what I'll keep doing.
