Guest guest
We are sure you all probably know by now that Jello brand geletin that was listed in a recent recipe is NOT a vegetarian item and therefore should never show up in a recipe posted to the feral vegetarian list. We realise that many people do not know what Jello or most commercial brands of geletin are made of. There are some brands of vegetarian geletin available on the market and many people just call them " jello " as a form of slang meaning geletin in any form. For the protection of the sensitivities of the vegans and vegetarians on our list, and the simple fact it is a vegetarian list, we should avoid posting any recipe that lists jello or Jello brand in the ingredients. If anyone has a tried and true recipe that contains a vegetarian plant-based geletin, please specifically mention the brand used and don't refer to it as " jello " to avoid this confusion. Thank you all who have responded to that recipe error in a kind and informative manner. Sincerely, pt & Shawn
